Applications: 2004-20011 RX-8 / 2006-12 MX-5 - Rear Sway Bar - Racing Beat-designed sway bars reduce chassis roll during cornering and increases your car's sensitivity to steering inputs, thereby improving maximum cornering power. Substantial engineering effort, select steel alloys, and precise manufacturing processes are combined to produce top performance components. As presently manufactured, this MX-5/RX-8 Tubular design utilizes a one-hole attachment point on either end. All Racing Beat sway bars are finished with a distinctive, red powder coating that provides a smooth, glossy protective layer. You can be assured of many years of superior handling performance with these proven bars!
MX-5 Miata Application
Although originally designed for the RX-8 application, this rear bar can be used on a MX-5 when a large rear bar is needed to pair up with a front bar. Designed specifically as a matched component for our large 1.25" OD (32mm) front bar, each bar is supplied with replacement urethane bushings, bar clamps, and Prothane grease.
RX-8 Application
The diameter of the rear tubular bar is .75" (19mm) x .125" wall thickness, as compared to the stock .632" (16mm) x .097" wall thickness rear bar. An additional feature of the rear bar is a pair of OEM style "stoppers" to prevent the bar from sliding sideways in the bar bushings during heavy cornering effort. Each bar is supplied with replacement urethane bushings, Prothane grease and installation instructions. (The original OEM bar clamps are retained for use with this bar.)
During test sessions using our Racelogic VBox GPS data acquisition system, we recorded noticeable handling improvements after the installation of the Racing Beat sway bar set. Using the stock wheel/tire/ combination on our 2004 RX-8, we recorded the following cornering forces:
